Scottish Fire And Rescue Service Heritage Centre

Posted by jamie on the 26 July 2013

Today I went along to the new Scottish Fire And Rescue Service Heritage Centre in Greenock. As I have a young person working with me on work experience for the next few weeks and as I believe good community practice cannot be learnt through reading but rather through practical experience; today we tagged along to the Trust Chit Chat project's outing.

The project arranges meet-ups for individuals in Central and East Greenock aged 65+ who are at risk of social isolation. Today's meet up was to the new Scottish Fire And Rescue Service Heritage Centre located here the very heart of Greenock, Inverclyde at the Municipal Buildings. This museum is truly a local gem; rich in history, culture and a sense of pride for the Scottish Fire and Rescue men and woman that serve our country.
